The tricky part of finding manhwa like Solo Leveling is deciding what you want back. Jinwoo’s transformation, the dungeons and the shadow army are three different attractions. A story can share one of them and still feel very different to read. The picks below make that difference clear before you commit to another long series.

Quick picks

Choose The Lone Necromancer for an undead army, SSS-Class Revival Hunter for an overlooked hunter gaining a life-changing skill, or Omniscient Reader for survival through game-like rules. For power from the start, pick Tutorial Tower. None is an exact replacement for Jinwoo’s modern-dungeon, weak-to-strong journey.

The Lone Necromancer

Seongwu is in college when ordinary life gives way to a role-selection prompt and monsters. He chooses necromancy, giving him a way to command the dead while trying to keep other survivors alive. That makes this the clearest match here for someone who wants the appeal of gathering forces instead of relying only on a stronger punch.

Expect a different social setup from a lone hunter working his way through a ranking system. The immediate question is how a group survives a collapsing world. If the shadow-army idea was your favorite part of Solo Leveling, try this first; if you mostly want Jinwoo’s personal transformation, the next pick is closer to that starting position.

SSS-Class Revival Hunter

Confucius Kim envies the successful hunters around him until he receives an extraordinary copying skill. The catch is that it activates through his death. An encounter with the leading hunter then gives him a way to turn that terrible condition into a second chance.

For the weak-to-strong side of Solo Leveling, this is the closest starting point in this selection: he begins below the successful hunters he envies, and a rare skill changes what is possible. The route to improvement is different, though. Copying and returning to an earlier moment make knowledge and repeated attempts valuable; this is not a simple loop of clearing gates, gaining stats and collecting loot.

If you specifically want modern hunter guilds, dungeon raids and steady leveling together, none of these five matches every part. Choose SSS for the initial disadvantage and tower, or Lone Necromancer for commanding the dead. SSS also includes repeated death and self-destructive behavior, so it is a heavier choice than an easy-win power fantasy.

Omniscient Reader

Dokja’s favorite web novel becomes reality. He knows the events that other people are encountering for the first time, so his advantage begins with information. That is a useful reason to try this after Solo Leveling, but also the reason not to treat it as a substitute for Jinwoo’s exact journey.

Dokja’s knowledge gives you a different kind of anticipation: the interest is in what he knows about a challenge that the people around him do not. That is the reason to choose it for rule-driven survival. If your main pleasure is seeing a character’s physical power rise after each dungeon, the extra layer of a novel becoming reality makes this a less direct match.

Doom Breaker

Zephyr is humanity’s last fighter when he is defeated, then sent ten years into the past. He has a chance to prevent the disaster rather than simply survive another day. The appeal is preparing for enemies and mistakes he already knows, with a personal reason to change the outcome.

This is the pick for fantasy battles and a comeback, rather than modern portals and hunter employment. It also needs a practical caution: the linked English listing currently stops at the Season 2 finale. If you want uninterrupted progress toward an ending, choose one of the completed options instead of assuming the weekly label guarantees new chapters.

The Advanced Player of the Tutorial Tower

Hyeonu Kim spends twelve years trapped in a tower with regenerating monsters. When he gets out, he is already extraordinarily strong and wants to know who trapped him. Choose this when the part you want is the payoff of power, rather than watching every step that produced it.

The reward here is the gap between Hyeonu’s experience and the world he returns to. His original prison remains a problem strength alone cannot explain: overpowering monsters is different from identifying who trapped him. Choose this for the payoff of prior training; choose SSS when you want the starting disadvantage to matter.

Completed picks and where to read

The Lone Necromancer and The Advanced Player of the Tutorial Tower are the completed choices in this selection. Start with the former for necromancy and the latter for a hero who has already done his training. For more genres with an ending available, see our completed manhwa picks.

The links lead to official English editions. WEBTOON may move later episodes to its app; Tapas offers a mixture of free opening episodes and unlock options. Check the episode list before planning a binge, since a completed story is not necessarily available free from beginning to end. Our manhwa reading-platform guide explains the main options.
