Tickets: check your cinema and the screening language
The release announcement does not give a U.S. ticket-sale date. Once listings appear, search your cinema’s site for the full English title, select January 29 or a later available date, and check whether the session is dubbed or subtitled before booking. Showtimes and the length of the theatrical run will depend on your local cinema.
Japan already has a separate official advance-ticket page, including character-visual tickets announced for October 2. These advance tickets are for Japan only.
Is the movie coming to Crunchyroll streaming?
A streaming release date has not been announced. The January 29 date is for theaters. There is no digital rental or Blu-ray date either. If you want to watch at home, wait for a separate home-release announcement.

What is Witch on the Holy Night about?
The film follows Aoko Aozaki, a high-school student learning to become a magician while living with Alice Kuonji. A meeting with Soujyuro Shizuki brings a third person into their unusual household.
It adapts TYPE-MOON’s visual novel written by Kinoko Nasu. The animation studio is ufotable, also known for its work on Demon Slayer and Fate adaptations. The official film site lists Haruka Tomatsu as Aoko, Kana Hanazawa as Alice and Yusuke Kobayashi as Soujyuro. The North American announcement confirms an English dub but does not name its cast.
Do you need to play Mahoyo or watch Fate first?
Mahoyo is the common shortened name for Mahoutsukai no Yoru, the Japanese title of Witch on the Holy Night. The film introduces Aoko’s story rather than continuing a Fate season. You do not need to finish a Fate watch order before starting it.
You can play the visual novel first if you want to explore the source story, or go into the film without knowing its plot. The English game’s product page covers a separate release. Its platform dates are not movie dates, and the film’s announcements do not establish that it adapts every part of the game.
