Swallowed Star’s main cultivation sequence is Apprentice, Planetary, Stellar, Universe, Domain Master, World Master, then Immortal. On Earth, the early ranks are usually described as Warrior, Warlord and War God. Those are subdivisions of the Apprentice stage, not three extra cosmic realms above it.

Most confusion comes from translation. Star Traveller means Planetary; Star Level means Stellar; Sector Lord means World Master. When two subtitles seem to disagree, compare the Chinese term and the surrounding ranks before adding another stage to the ladder.

Swallowed Star cultivation levels in order

This chart covers the main ladder from Earth’s fighters to Immortal. It names future realms but does not reveal when Luo Feng reaches them or who wins particular battles. Later novel terminology is separated below.

Realm Chinese Other English names How to read it
Apprentice 学徒级 Student level Nine levels. Earth’s Warrior, Warlord and War God classifications sit within this stage.
Planetary 行星级 Star Traveller, Planet level Levels 1 to 9. The first realm above the Earth classification.
Stellar 恒星级 Star level, Astral level Levels 1 to 9. Comes after Planetary, despite the shared word “star” in some translations.
Universe 宇宙级 Cosmic level Levels 1 to 9. A specific realm, not a general description of anyone travelling through space.
Domain Master 域主级 Domain Lord Levels 1 to 9. Do not confuse the realm with learning a domain technique.
World Master 界主级 Sector Lord, World Lord, Realm Lord Levels 1 to 9. All these common names occupy the same step in the sequence.
Immortal 不朽 Undying Beyond World Master. Its distinctions are not simply another identical nine-level list.

The official English novel by I Eat Tomatoes uses Star Traveller, Domain Lord, Sector Lord and Undying. These labels and the alternatives above describe the same sequence. Use the Chinese column when an English subtitle is ambiguous.

Earth ranks: Warrior, Warlord and War God

Earth’s fighters use three broad ranks, each divided into low, intermediate and high. The table maps their physical-strength bands to Apprentice levels. A fighter’s recognised rank also depends on their combat record, so the title can lag behind a test result.

Earth classification Common subtitle alternatives Equivalent physical level in Apprentice
Warrior / 战士 Fighter; warrior class Levels 1 to 3: low, intermediate, high
Warlord / 战将 General; battle general Levels 4 to 6: low, intermediate, high
War God / 战神 Wargod; battlelord Levels 7 to 9: low, intermediate, high

“Warrior” is also used loosely for a person who fights. Check whether a scene is naming a formal rank or speaking about fighters in general. Likewise, a martial club student and a qualified fighter are not automatically the same thing. Luo Feng’s early prospective-fighter assessment is an entry requirement; passing it does not put him at the top of the Earth system.

A concrete example: in chapter 25, “A Fighter’s Level,” Jiang Nian places Luo Feng’s physical fitness at intermediate warrior, but explains that a newly qualified fighter initially holds beginner-warrior standing. He needs a record of defeating suitable monsters to earn the higher classification. The two labels describe different evidence, not a continuity error.

The subtitle differences that cause the most confusion

Star Traveller is not Stellar

These are consecutive realms, not interchangeable labels. If a translation says Star Traveller, read it as Planetary. If it says Star or Stellar, check for 恒星级. A level 9 Planetary cultivator is still in the earlier realm; reaching level 1 Stellar crosses into the next one. The internal number starts again.

Domain and Domain Master are different terms

A domain is an ability; Domain Master is a realm. A character can develop the former before reaching the latter. The original novel makes this distinction explicit when it describes Star Traveller fighters with domains in chapter 253. That chapter link contains plot spoilers; the distinction itself does not require knowing the scene’s outcome.

World Master and Universe Master are not the same

World Master, or Sector Lord, is the realm immediately before Immortal. Universe Master is later terminology. Keep the full realm name when comparing subtitles. The distinction is especially important when comparing novel discussions with subtitles that prefer “World Lord.”

Is Spirit Reader a separate cultivation level?

No. Spirit Reader describes a path or ability, not a rung above Warrior or below Planetary. Physical cultivation and spiritual power can develop at different rates. A character who uses both needs more than one measurement to describe their abilities accurately.

Think of three separate questions: what realm is the body at, what level has the spiritual power reached, and what can the character actually do in a fight? A mental attack, controlled weapons or unusually strong perception can create an advantage that a physical-strength label does not fully express.

Why a lower realm does not always lose

The ladder describes progression, not an automatic winner. Techniques, weapons, defensive equipment, spiritual attacks, experience and the conditions of the fight all matter. A stronger realm normally gives a major advantage, but the story deliberately tests what someone can do with the resources available to them.

“Can threaten a World Master” describes combat effectiveness. “Has become a World Master” describes a breakthrough. A weapon or technique that lets someone challenge a stronger opponent does not change their realm by itself.

Show the names of realms beyond Immortal

Beyond Immortal, the main sequence continues through Universe Venerable, Universe Master and True God. Universe Venerable may appear as Universe Knight. True God is also associated with the term Universe Strongest in earlier terminology.

Further novel terminology includes Void True God and Eternal True God. These names describe later stages of the setting. They are not a claim that the donghua has reached them, or a list of Luo Feng’s current achievements.

Immortal itself includes distinctions often translated as ordinary Undying, Marquis or Official, and King or Emperor. These are useful subdivisions within that broader tier, rather than replacements for the Planetary-to-World-Master ladder. Translation choices vary considerably here.

Lists that extend into sequel material or the author’s connected works answer a broader question. Do not use their final entries to infer the end point of the animated adaptation you are following.

How to check Luo Feng’s level at your episode

Use the episode number, the body or ability being discussed, and the exact subtitle phrase. That is more reliable than a search for “Luo Feng current level,” which can mix weekly animation, the completed original novel and later stories.

  1. Find the latest explicit rank statement in the episode or the preceding breakthrough scene.
  2. Match its name to the translation table above.
  3. Check whether it describes physical strength, spiritual power or combat potential.
  4. Compare it only with discussions of the same episode range and version.

For example, Planetary level 9 comes before Stellar level 1, while Universe level 9 is much later. Always retain the realm name with the number. If the episode does not state a breakthrough, describe the demonstrated ability instead of assigning a new level from the fight alone.

Use the chart alongside the official episodes

Swallowed Star on WeTV provides the animated episode sequence. Check the subtitle language and access label for your location. You do not need to study the late novel ranks to enjoy the early Earth story: the immediate distinction is between training, qualifying as a fighter and proving yourself outside a controlled test.

For other series built around different approaches to training and advancement, our cultivation donghua guide explains what each choice offers. Their rank names are not interchangeable with Swallowed Star’s system.
